At Playful Paws, we offer educational, and interactive visits. We do not support the idea of a "DOGS GONE WILD" facility. With superior staff to dog ratio and supervised days that include, obedience and confidence building exercises, gate manners, and respect, we aim to help EVERY regular attendee become a better member of society. We work with you and your dog to empower owners to achieve a growing relationship with their dogs.

When attending daycare with us, your dog will experience the freedom to develop their own friendships, personality, and play style. All while closely being monitored by our pet first aid trained; canine educated staff. They will continuously be communicated with and given affection and direction as seen fit.

Having access to our all-natural outdoor play area, your dog is sure to enjoy the fresh air of all the Nova Scotia seasons. Romping in our indoor heated/air conditioned, air filtered classroom can keep the dogs comfortable, happy and content with our veterinarian-manufactured and approved flooring.

 

Much like children’s daycare your dogs may need quiet time as well. During the day your dog may be given a nap, during which time they can have a snack or just a break. Naps will be given in accordance to their age, comfort level and play styles. Snacks, or lunches are to be supplied by the pet parent.

Daycare Requirements -
We require that all Daycare attendees first join us for a socialization/behaviour assessment for a minimum of three (3) hours at the daycare and provide proof of required vaccinations. 

We also strongly encourage not over-vaccinating your pets. Therefore, we made sure to find an insurance company that accepts titer testing. Ask your veterinarian about titer testing on your next visit!

All of our services require the following vaccine proof to participate – 

  • Once old enough - Rabies, 1 or 3-year vaccine – or up-to-date titer from veterinarian.
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough) - 1 year vaccine
  • Distemper, 1 or 3-year vaccine – or up-to-date titer from veterinarian.
  • Parvovirus, 1 or 3-year vaccine – or up-to-date titer from veterinarian

 

If your dog is new to us they must be neutered by 6 months old before they can come to day care.

Packages are available in half-day and full-day increments. 

Half-day visits – 5-hour max

ATTENTION: There are NO refunds on packages. Packages DO NOT expire! Half day packages can not be used to cover full days and vise versa.
